All selectees for HAMC’s HCV 2020 lottery based waiting list were notified by US Mail in July 2020.
A link to this grace period notification was sent to selectees who provided a mobile number. If you have completed steps 1 & 2 please disregard the text message.
The mailed notification states
To be on the waiting list lottery selectees MUST:
- Register on HAMC’s Applicant Portal at https://portal.maricopahousing.org/
- Complete the formal application by September 15, 2020 (per the letter). This notice is informing you of the Grace Period that ends Wednesday, September 30th, 2020 3:00PM PST
If you do not complete the required steps your name will NOT be added to HAMC’s HCV 2020 Waitlist AND you are forfeiting your waiting list lottery selectee status..

When you have completed steps 1 and 2, your application will be reviewed to ensure only lottery selectees are added to the wait list. Your application will remain on HAMC’s 2020 Waiting list until your waiting list application has been selected and determined to be eligible for a Housing Choice Voucher.
The applicant portal allows applicants to check their waiting list status, reply to future ‘Save My Spot’ inquires, and when pulled from the waitlist, complete the ‘Certification for Intake’ process online.
HAMC will contact you by mail at least once every year to confirm your continued interest in the program (‘Save My Spot’ inquiry). If mail is returned to our office your name will be removed from HAMC waitlist(s). HAMC is NOT responsible for misdirected or undelivered mail by the postal service, nor for the applicant’s failure to report changes of address.
It is your responsibility to report address and preference changes within 10 working days by logging into the applicant portal and updating your applicant information.

If Registered (Existing HAMC Rent Café User) proceed to login
Enter: User Name & Password
If Not Registered – A New User must create an account
Click: ‘Register Now’ or ‘Click here to register’ (see figure 3)
Click: ‘I do NOT have a registration code’
Create an Account
All fields are required
- Login to complete the 50058 Online Application / Apply to Wait List
Proceed with answering all required questions. Click ‘Save and Continue’ as you go thru the application process.
You are not done, and the application is not submitted until you have reviewed the summary screen and accepted the term and conditions.
The application confirmation screen will indicate that the form has been submitted.
